Black Tea

Black tea is a fully oxidized tea, not fermented. During the oxidation process the pigments of tea leaves turn brown, which is why black tea has its color.

Oxidation and fermentation are two different processes and shouldn’t be used interchangeably when referring to the production of tea. If you visit a website or teashop where fermentation is mentioned about the production of black tea, run and go to another vendor.
