Ingredients (4 serves):
- 6 tsp loose leaf black tea
- 2 cups of boiling water (210°F)
- A pinch of baking soda
- 0.75 cup of sugar
- 2 sliced lemons (optional for serving)
- 1.5 quarts of cool water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint (optional for decoration)
Preparation:
Step 1: Place the tea leaves in a teapot and add the boiling water. Leave it to infuse for 15 minutes.
Step 2. Pour the infused tea into a heatproof pitcher using a strainer.
Step 3. Add the baking soda and sugar to the pitcher while the tea is still hot. Mix it well until dissolved. Add the cool water and mix again. Leave to cool until lukewarm.
Step 4. Put the pitcher to the fridge and chill for 2-3 hours.
Step 5. Add the lemon slices to the chilled tea (optional) and ice cubes to fill the pitcher.
